Last week Friday Sunglass Hut Melrose Arch hosted their first Punk-Avantgarde trend talk with Crystal Kasper and Palesa Mahlaba from the Duo Desk Style. The fashion twins shared insider secrets on how to incorporate this trend into your everyday wardrobe. From studs, matte black and sparkly sunglasses, to leather jackets and tutus, embellished heels and black lipstick – this stylish duo covered it all.
The number one style tip from them, for those of us who love sunnies but don't quite know how to match it, is to start with it first and then from there build your outfit. Another tip is to incorporate different styles, for example you either go edgier, with a feminine touch or you go feminine with an edgier touch-and that's the secret to adopting the Punk Avantgarde Style.
This style phenomenon has been sweeping through London Fashion Week as well as some of the awards ceremonies where being normal is no longer acceptable, you have to #PUNKITUP!! I feel with so many style variations you can only so much so designers are looking at creative ways to dress up existing styles and make it more fresh and appealing to fashionistas and boy is it working.
Personally I am not a fan, I still love classic couture looks, but I can tell that this summer it will defs be trending. Its very easy to fall inlove with and its not a mission to put together, its very relaxed.
