I love changing hairstyles but have run out of ideas until I came to the realisation that I have fantastic curly hair. Growing up in a community where it was classed as "coloured croes hair" and if your hair was not straight it just wasn't acceptable. I have always felt a bit conscience of that until I realised WHO CARES?????
so like 30 years later I am enjoying my coloured curly hair and its just amazing!!!!
So amazing that I would like to tell you about the products I am using. I have received such a lot of awesome compliments from people asking me what do I use to hold my curls and how do I get curly hair to look so healthy and I thought to myself -BLOGPOST!!!
So today I am going to give you some tips on how to care for your curly hair and get the best curls and the products which I use.
1. Lóreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Shampoo and Conditioner
I tried a lot of shampoos and conditioners for my hair because curly hair is normally dry and hard its so important to get a good shampoo and conditioner. You need something that is going to put the moisture back in your hair and is going to keep it nourished. For me, this is just amazing and works very well. By the way all the products I mention I also use on my daughters hair, so its safe for kids.
2. To brush or not to brush? That is the question.
There is only two occasions when you can brush curly hair other than that....Don't do it. The first occasion is when you are about to wash your hair. So you brushing it out to take out all the knots so your curls have a nice shape and they are not tangled. The other time you brush your curly hair is after you applied the conditioner to your hair. You then brush it out to smooth your hair and make sure that the conditioner is applied from the roots to the tips of your hair. If you are not in one of those two situations. Brushing is never a good idea.
3. The Secret ingredient
So you have brushed it and washed it. Now to add the secret ingredient. The oil. I use African pride Olive Oil. It smells fantastic! I actually went around smelling olive oil in Clicks and that's how I chose it. But the reason why I keep buying it is because it holds your curls and makes them bouncy and look amazing. You are not going to find a better product which is as cheap. Even products which were far more expensive couldn't do the job as well. This is the oil that makes me look like a Rock star and has brought curly back for me.
4. Hair Moisturiser
Although the oil does a fantastic job of holding my curls and not letting them go POOF!! Sometimes for a sleeker look , where I don't want to tangle my curls up or when I put my hair up, I use a hair moisturiser. I enjoy the one from Motions. It also smells great (I Love things that smell nice) and it leaves your hair nice and soft with a bit of a shine.
5. Bed time
So you are Hot and your hair is all curly and fabulous. But for how long? Some of us know that once you go to bed and wake up all dem curls are flat which means you have to start over again. So here is a trick to maintain those bouncy curls....Plait your hair before you go to bed at night. No crazy stocking or buns are going to work just an old fashioned long plait. When you get up in the morning take the plait apart and wah-lah!! You bringing curly back again.
So that's it from me. Hope everyone enjoyed the tips and tricks. If you wanna leave a comment or add anything for the readers to enjoy, please feel free to do so.
Till next time-Happy Fashion!!
