The power within

"The only power you will ever have is the power you give yourself"

Take some time and let that sink in. Repeat those words if you have to a couple of times but understand what it means.

In life we often faced with situations which we feel are beyond our control. But today I am telling you that is a lie. We only feel powerless because we have not stepped our game to say to ourselves that we can change it. Maybe its because of low self esteem or you feel dominated by a specific person or situation but believe me, you have the power within you to not only change yourself but also your situation. The only thing you need to do is BELIEVE.

Believing is two fold. Firstly its believing in yourself. That you are capable, you are adequate, that you can do whatever needs to be done and then secondly, believing that YOU have the authority to do it. Remember no one is living your life, or walking in your shoes therefore no one will know your daily battle, or what you are enduring, so no one can make that judgement call. YOU have to do that. As much as good friends can motivate you and encourage you and stand by you through thick and thin -no one can BELIEVE for you. That's your part. That's all on you.

Authority-lets unpack that a bit cause that's where most people get stuck. You might believe that you can do it but you might feel that its not your place, you might think to yourself-who am I? Maybe I'm in this situation for a reason. Maybe this is my karma, the cross I have to bear cause I did such and such 10 years ago. Let me just say this-When God forgives-He forgets. He wants us to live of prosperity and success. He wants to see us happy. There is no such thing. We imprison ourselves then justify it in our minds.Aren't we a clever bunch.

So lets go back to POWER. When you give yourself that power to start changing things or no longer accepting things in your life, you release your mind of the constraints that has held it captive for so long. You open yourself to yourself. Your needs. Your goals. Your desires. You change because now your entire outlook on life has changed. Your become more open and susceptible to the things which the world has to offer.

But a word of caution.

Once you make up your mind to regain your power and use it don't expect things to change over night. Like a new King who has just taken over his kingdom-things can take time. So if you want to take that leap into a new job, it will take time to find something which is right for you. If you are planning some changes in a relationship, it will take time before you see positive results. Just because your mind-set changed and you are willing to take back the sceptre-it does not mean that the rest of the world changed around you. People are still going to be the same. The difference is your outlook of them will be different. So don't expect changes overnight and I say this because you might feel that its all for naught, you might get discouraged, But persevere and accept that things will take time but you are willing to wait because you know now that you are in a position of power, you are taking the bull by the horns and you are not the bull anymore, no one is steering you.
