Empire state of Mind

I am really enjoying the new series called Empire. It is so refreshing from the mundane crime sagas and relationship dramas that we usually see on TV. Now don't get me wrong, I am a die hard Greys and How to get away with Murder fan, but sometimes you just need something fresh-and this is it!! The acting is fantastic, the cast amazing-even Naomi Campbell is there and the music makes you wanna run out and get the soundtrack. It also gives you that "behind the scenes look" at record companies and what actually goes on over there. My favourite part of the series so far is when Cookie hits her son with a broom stick!!! lol. That just reminds me that no matter how rich you are-you still getting it from your mother!! lol

The US just played the season finale and I am so tempted to watch it on line but I don't want to take the suspense out of it. So I decided to wait patiently....or impatiently, however you want to see it ...lol!!

For those of you who are watching, you will notice that todays look is inspired by
Mr Lucious Lyon himself. I really love his look. Although he is a man, he's got this very prestige, high society-but-keeping-it-real look. Neat straight lines, with a bit of colour, usually he goes for softer hues, like the blues and browns and then when he goes dark its bold and strong. So I went for the darker tones. Black and white, with a scarf.

Now Cookie's style? no way-I cant deal with that! That's way too much attitude and sexiness for me. She is just over-the-top in every way. Her style, her clothes, her MOUTH! I love Cookie but I could never pull her off so I didn't even try. But seriously you need to start watching if you haven't started already.
