After giving birth to my bouncing baby boy, Cruz, I weighed in the region of 87-90 Kg, believe it or not and I did everything humanly possible to get rid of the weight. I went to gym twice a day, I ate dry toast and coffee and then eventually I just starved myself!! Well I was loosing a bit but then I would just put that bit back on and add to it when I started eating normally.
I thought I was going to stay that size forever. For me it was uncomfortable cause I was never that size before so even shopping was such a challenge, and what would I do with all my clothes? I was slowly slipping into depression and lost without hope....Then one day while on my way to gym I heard on 5fm that Poppy uses a diet called the Heart Foundation Diet. The aim of the food you eat is not to make you thin but to release the chemicals your body needs to speed up your metabolism, and therefore you loose weight and continue to do so even after you have left the diet. The best part about this diet is that its only 3 days a week and you get to choose the days. Isn't that just the best? I usually do-Mon-Wed so it doesn't interfere with my weekends and especially Sunday Lunches.
Well I tried it and in three months I lost 30kgs. You supposed to loose around 2-3kgs in your first week and every week thereafter. But for me, in my first week I lost only 1 kg, after that 2 kgs, then after that it was between 3-4kgs each week. So don't be despondent if you don't loose much the first week, just continue, you will get there.
So this is my go-to diet. I've never again been even close to 90kg, but now and then I do pick up weight especially over the holidays and then I do two weeks of this diet and I'm fine again.
But like with every other diet you have to be committed. Loosing weight is more about a mental state than anything else. If you are not committed to anything in life it wont work. Also doing things half-way wont help either. This doesn't just apply to dieting it also applies to life. So for those who want a copy of the diet let me know and I will e-mail it to you.
