Happy New Year and happy new Goals

I know I am a bit late but I would still like to wish all my readers a Happy New Year!

My daughter asked me if I had made any new years resolutions and I politely replied that mummy was far too old to be making resolutions. At my age I set goals. And that is what I wish for every single one of you. Set goals for this year and work towards achieving them don't let another year slip by without you realizing your dreams and your potential. Your goals doesn't have to be monumental, make it as realistic as possible so you are able to achieve it but also challenging enough, so you are able to achieve it with effort involved.  What is also important to remember is to write them down!!! Somewhere you can see it everyday. You need to be reminded and motivated so put it on your mirror, in your diary-where ever you know you going to see it! I got mine in my diary and I start off my morning reading it like a Mantra. The best part about writing it down...is ticking it off then watching that one tick while you realize the rest of your goals! Most amazing feeling ever!

During the month of January I start the Daniel fast (an entire 21 days with fruit and veg) and I use this time also to meditate and reflect on the previous year and see what are the changes I need to make in my life. Not only with my surroundings but also within myself. For me this is so important. Many of us don't take the time to see how much we have grown in a year and then suddenly when we have problems we unable to fathom why? Sometimes you outgrow certain people and situations, you will also outgrow certain bad habits and addictions, so its nice to reflect, so you don't regress and you kind of develop an approach on how to deal with it going forward.  I know its hard to think back an entire 12 months but try using a Diary or even Facebook to jog your memory.

I once read a DP which said " Thank God I don't act like where I am coming from..." Now that can have two meanings. Maybe you grew up poor and you doing better now or maybe you were in a bad situation and you have now moved on....but what drew me to that statement is that in order to grow, you have to change. And that doesn't mean changing what's intrinsically you, it means changing those things that weigh you down and don't benefit you any longer. Change is key to improving yourself but how to know what to improve will only come with self-reflection. The hard part.

So start the year off with a plan to make it successful. Success just doesn't happen. It was planned for in advance.

Happy Fashion and thank you to all those who had voted for me in the Blogger Awards!
