It's almost foreign to me to start writing again since I haven't put anything on the blog in ages. I have been soooo sick and then preoccupied with other things for a while. Things that only have a 4 year cycle so I can happily say that it won't happen again for another 4 years.
Last week Thursday evening was my graduation. I studied part time through Unisa and completed my LLB. Which is a Bachelor of Law. For me it was a momentus occasion signifying the glorious end of years of sacrifice and hard work and the beggining of a new era in my life. I was so proud of myself. Which was very hard to admit cause I am so hard on myself when it comes to accomplishes and accolades. I am always pushing myself to do better and better and not be complacent. But for this day I just took it all in and refused to downgrade the day.
What really caught my attention is when the Dean said that only 7 percent of the country's population has a tertiary education and will benefit as the few that will have an above average income and will be able to succeed easily in life. I don't think he implied the opposite though...that if you don't have a degree you can't succeed cause that is so untrue. I know many successful people who do not even have matric. Scholastic performance is no indication of intelligence. But a good education never hurt anyone either. He also spoke about people who have the degree don't do anything with it. That that piece of paper he has given you is your ticket, your free pass to change the world or at least change your attitude.
I am now 33 and I have worked myself to where I am with Matric and for that I am most proud. I didn't have a degree all these years and I still got along. Not as great as I would like to but I wasn't short of anything. Yes the degree does help me now because I am able to apply for a lot more jobs now but it doesn't take anything away from hard work and dedication . I still believe firmly that with hard work and dedication you can achieve anything. Education is very important and will open a lot of doors but so will working hard.
So the clothes. ....
Choosing something to wear for this grand occasion was a nightmare. Cause there was so much to choose from . Finally i settled on a dress from a beautiful cream and gold dress from Forever New. What I really loved about this dress is the layers of lace at the bottom. The jewellery is from Hong Kong I got it during my last trip there. And the bag is also from Forever New. Lastly the shoes are from one of my suppliers.
I hope you enjoyed the look.
Happy fashion!
And for those of you who are writing exams . All the luck and God Bless.
