HOn Saturday Tech girl.co.za, also known as Sam, who has a blog on everything technical, hosted a workshop in Midrand at Musteck for the blogger community.
The aim of the workshop was to teach us bloggers some tips and tricks on WordPress and Blogspot. She did an entire slide presentation of doing how to do the different settings in our blogs and the dos and do nots as well. She also highlighted the differences between the two applications and what was its best quality etc . The workshop also revealed some tips and tricks as well as loads of advice on integrity and maintaining your readership. She also went into hosting your own site and what is the advantages of that and what are the best options if you feel you want to go that route.
It was an amazing workshop and I learnt so much not only about the applications but also about blogging in general. The turn out was amazing and the early birds, like me, where given cute little bracelets from Trinket Trove. The workshop was very informative and everybody left better equipped than when they came in.
Here are some of the tips that stuck with me:
1. Blog about what you know
2. Write good content to keep your readers coming back
3. Google has always got your back
4. Back up your blog
5. Keep your integrity don't buy readers
Those are my top five but the list is really endless and I don't want to bore you with Blogger problems....lol
I also was forunate enough to meet some fantastic bloggers and aspiring bloggers..It was great! I hope this won't be a once off thing but a usual getogther. ..hint hint!
