Skip Fashion Exchange

Whoa what a night!!

I had such a fabulous time at the Skip Fashion Exchange which was hosted at Urban Tree in Sandton. Urban Tree, which is just off South Road is one of the most exquisite venues I have ever been to! Think modern meets elegance with crystal chandeliers, soft lighting and earthy colours-its just so WOW!

The entrance to the venue is really stunning, it has this white tunnel which is lit up in purple, it looked amazing.

So once you complete your check-in, you then go to one of the gorgeous Skip Girls, who had on the most amazing purple statement necklaces, I did all I could but I could not get one of them (heartbroken). These ladies evaluate your items then give you a card with a sticker on it, which you can then use to shop for another garment.

The wine was flowing and there were canapés for days served by waitrons who swept the floor. The tables were decorated so grandly you could have just got married there. The colours were silver purple and pink, and the tables had pink flowers will purple ribbon tied to your napkin and crystal and silver candle holders (I think, I am not sure what its called) which looked gorgeous.

Bonang was the MC for the event and she sparkled in a white 2 piece suit and white vest with a gorgeous neck piece. She kept us entertained the entire evening. She has a lot of energy!!
There were so many speakers. One of the speakers was the founder of the Princess Project, which is a project which sponsors money for matriculants so they can afford a matric dress. they played us a video which was so sad...there wasn't a dry eye in the room.

Then we had two stylists, one from Sunrise and the other is Jessica. They showcased some of the latest trends for the pre-spring season and later on all those trends were given away to some lucky ladies!!! and I just happen to be one of them-yeah me!

Time for supper- The food was just as glam as the event. It just looked so good and tasted even better. I just over did it with the desserts though...and then Lloyd Cele walked in and serenaded the ladies with love songs! Could he not have come in before supper? At least we would have all looked much slimmer...hahahaha!!

After supper it was time to shop!! This was supposed to be the entire reason for this event-the fashion exchange...but in between the décor, supper, music and ambience, this was just side lined. We were all just having such a good time that we weren't in too much of hurry to pick out some clothes. But I must admit there were some nice stuff. I managed to fight off some chick for a Zara jacket (just kidding we didn't fight-I just gave her the "you know I grabbed it first stare" and she backed off and smiled politely. I cant wait to show it off one of the days on the blog.

I also met some Bloggers there!! I love meeting bloggers-there is just so much to talk about. I was so chaffed!

And so the night came to end and all that was left to do was to get our goody bags, which was gorgeous!! Its this woven bag with a blue ribbon, thank goodness its not a paper bag, which contained a skip product, a magazine and a beautifully beaded necklace.

Thank you to Skip for inviting me to such a beautiful event! I had an amazing time....cant wait for the next one!!
