The word stretchmark does not come out of anybody's mouth very easily, unless you are super blessed and have none! Otherwise to the rest of us who have given birth and the others who have gained or lost weight repeatedly, its a quiet insecurity which you deal with shamefully. I have two kids and losing the weight was a joy compared to losing the stretchmarks that comes with birth. People told me about fancy products which is supposed to reduce the risk, but you still get them and no matter what you are always so conscience about them and who is looking at them.
At the top of my list of insecurities (and we all have them) are my stretchmarks. daily reminder that gone are my bikini bottom days and midriffs. But oh well, its not all doom and gloom cause today I am going to tell you about the products which I use, which are accessible, which are reasonably priced and which works.
After I gave birth I went from Clarins, Roc, Clinique-everything, nothing gave me the results I wanted....then Nivea launched a Q10 Body Oil and I thought to myself-let me try it, and I never looked back. The first thing I noticed is that the colour of my skin changed where the stretchmark's were, it became lighter. The next week the appearance of the larger marks became lighter and the smaller ones just went away. The technical explanation would be that the oil helped the skin heal and that's why it just went away! I was amazed. That was one year ago. Now you can only imagine how good it looks now, and I still see improvements. I'm not saying that it takes it away, but it does SIGNIFICANTLY decrease its appearance and increases your confidence almost immediately.
You can use it on your whole body or just the areas where you need it. During the winter I use it on my entire body cause the oil just soaks into your skin making it feel so soft and supple, and my skin is always very dry in winter so I need the extra moisture.
After I put on the Body oil, I then put on the Q10 Cellulite and Body Firming Cream. This is also a fantastic product! Cellulite is also a nightmare, so I started using this with the oil and it works. I just think they complement each other fantastically. I have also started using this on areas which I need to firm up now...lol ! But mainly I use it for my thighs, buttocks and tummy.
Lastly, I use the Q10 Body firming lotion. I love this lotion because it soaks into your skin and doesn't make it greasy or shiny. it also keeps you moisturised for the entire day-no scratching the word DRY on your skin. Nivea has really made some amazing products and the best part is that the oil costs around R90 and the Cellulite cream the same and lotion as well and it lasts for about two months(if you bath twice a day) so R270 for a body range is actually for free.
Well all I can say is that its worked for me-it will work for you.
