So for the second part of the school holidays I went with my sister to Gold Reef City in Johannesburg. Yoh that place is always busy no matter what part of the year it is, its packed.
The last time we were there we didn't get to see much so this time we decided to take it all in..
The first place we went to was the small zoo of farm animals plus snakes, I dont know how snakes fit in but its there. Priyanka loves animals so we had to spend time with each and every animal. The nice thing about it is that they are small educational boards which teaches you things about each animal, like what is a male called, what is a female called ect. And it's in handwriting and words which the kids can read themselves. Not like normal zoos which has the name of the animal and then the Latin name of the animal. I never understood how that helps anyone, cause you forget it after you've said it....
At the Zoo they also allow the kids to hold the rabbits and ginea pigs, with supervision of course, but it's still so exciting for them.
After that we went to the rides. Priyanka was too big to go on most of the rides and she didn't want to go on the bigger rides so she wasn't too happy. 11 is not an easy age, you not a child but not a teen either. So the only ride she went on was the shells and the cars. Cruz had a fantastic time going on all of the rides and running around.
We also went to check out the 4 d cinema which is amazing. Your seat moves during the performance and there's wind by your ears as part of the special effects. We watched the good, the bad and the horse. Its about a horse which catches the bad guy. Hilarious.
There is also an indoor play area for the kids to play which is great cause you have time away from the hot sun and can relax your tired feet while the kids have a ball.
Gold reef is still a fun place to take the kids and spend the day, we all had such an awesome time. Thanks to my sis and Patrick for taking us along!
