Human Rights braai

On Friday was human rights day which originated from the Sharpe ville massacre in which many people died because they were protesting against a dompas. That was like a ticket which had your details and address kind of like an ID. My mom showed me my grans dompas once, it was sad days for sure.

What people went through during apartheid cannot be explained to its full magnitude cause its more a feeling than anything else.  A feeling of inadequacy, worthlessness, being trapped, and not belonging.  All the worst feelings put  together.  But thank goodness that human nature is such that it can rise above adversity and circumstances and force change.

God made us so fearfully wonderful that we have a warrior inside of us ready to come out when necessary.  We have our own moral compass which shows us right from wrong, and we have his grace that helps us if we falter. Sometimes it's not the big battles that we fight but the little ones inside ourselves.  Some people still carry those feelings of apartheid with them, they still haven't dealt with them and it makes them poisonous to others.  Cause while we are trying to build a home we never had they are trying to destroy the peace which keeps it together and use it as an excuse for their behaviour.

Those people need help. We must pray for them.

Anyway I celebrated my Human rights day at Rietvlei dam in Alberton with my sisters! It was great.  We braai ed, spoke, laughed, played cricket then volleyball. ..we  very active.  Lol . We enjoyed our freedom.

Hope you also had a great day!!!
